Interesting Facts About Animals

These are some really interesting facts about animals which you might like to hear about.

This first animal that I am going to talk about is a "Capybara."Capybaras are south American relatives of mice, but they are about 16 times the size and 1600 times as heavy. They are mostly called water pigs because of their big size, their face is kind of shaped like a pig and they live near lakes and rivers. Where they eat grass that grows on land and weed that grows in water.

This second animal is called a "Cassowary."The cassowary looks dressed up all the time, two long crazy colored fold of skin, or wattles that hang from its neck. Some say this flashy getup helps these birds find mates. Other believe it lets them find one another in the dark forest where they live,
but the dagger like claws mean only one thing, the cassowary is fit for fighting.

This last animal is called a "Crowned Crane."The crowned crane is named for its headdress of stiff golden feathers, but the headdress has nothing to do with the way it calls or honks. To do this the bird uses the bright red throat pouch that hangs beneath its face, the crane puffs up the sac with air. Then it opens its beak and gives an eerie HONK! That can be heard from quite a distance.

Repost Of The Lousy Tiger Who Made A Lousy Mistake

A long time ago, there lived a poor family. There were three members in that family, a mother a son, and if you can believe it, a cow! After severals years, their cow had many babies and their backyard was filled with them. They sold lots of them and became very rich. They bought buildings, huge houses and even villages.

One day, the old mother cow was delivering something when she suddenly tripped over a rock and broke her ankle. One of the servants told the owner that the cow couldn’t walk anymore because her ankle was broken. The owner didn’t even care, she said “Just go and kill her and cook her, I don’t care about her I have a lot more cows than just her.”  They did this horrible thing, but they didn’t take the cows head because they didn’t really like it. (Remember this little detail because it becomes important later in the story)

In this other village, there was a boy who always went into the jungle after school. On the first day he went a short distance into the jungle. On the second day he went a little further, and on the third day he went deep into the jungle forest and met a tiger.  As odd as this might sound, they became friends. One day the tiger asked, “Can I eat a cow from your village? I heard that they are really tasty.”

The boy said, “It’s too dangerous for you to go there. They will catch you.”

The tiger refused to listen and got stuck in a trap. The boy saved him and then ran into the jungle. The tiger turned suddenly on the boy and said “ Now I’m going to EAT YOU!”

The boy said, “Wait, we will ask three things, and if they agree that you should eat me, then you can. First, they asked a deer.

The deer said “When an animal sees me, they try to eat me and when a human sees me they try to eat me as well, so I say go ahead and eat him. The second animal that they asked was the head of that cow (I told you to remember this detail)

The cow head said “ I used to be in a poor family and I made them very rich, but when my ankle broke they ate my body, so I say yes, go ahead.

The third animal that they met was a fox. The fox asked if the tiger had been trapped and was told that he was.

“Where was he trapped?”, asked the fox.  The boy took him to the village at night when no one was awake.   The fox asked the tiger to get inside the trap.  “Was the door open or shut?” inquired the fox.

The boy said it was shut so the fox proceeded to close it. The fox then said, “Let me eat him and you go and enjoy yourself.”

The boy asked, “Why are you eating him Mr fox?” “He is a lousy tiger who made a lousy decision, but can’t you forgive him?” said the boy.

“Of course I can,” said the fox, “but only if he doesn’t make that same mistake again”

The tiger promised to never do that again and they lived as friends for the rest of their lives.

Repost Of My Great Grandparents were Once King and Queen

This is a nonfiction story about my great grandparents when they were once a king and queen of eight villages. They were very respectful and polite to other people. They are also very rich.

They were very rich that their backyard even included mountains in it, they also had lots of fruit trees, like mangoes, plums and delicious fruits that you haven’t even seen or tasted before. They also had a river and a pond that they go swimming and fishing in.

They had lots of gold and diamonds which my grandmother and her brother and sisters used to wear every day. They found these under sand and the water because one day when most of the people in Burma were very poor that they couldn’t eat, drink, sleep or feed their children or family members. Thats when the miracle happened it started to rain gold and diamonds. In those days even the money used to be made out of it but America and London stole most of it thats why they are very rich.

The problem was that, in Burma the government killed the king and put his daughter in jail because they thought that she would be the new queen and order order police to put them in jail forever and give them pain for the cause of her father but she couldn’t. Anyway the government decided to take the land by himself so he kicked out most of the innocent and poor people out of the country, thats when my relative left but the worker of the house didn’t go he hided somewhere. After 4-5 months later they came back to take their house back but the worker said it’s his house now because already has signed a contract that the house belongs to him, so my relative had to leave. In Burma there are still my grandma’s brothers which are very rich as well and also has huge houses like my great grandparent did.

I hope you enjoyed reading this and are having a great time.

Repost Of "Technology At Tamaki Collage

I’m very excited! This year, I’m a year seven student, which means (at our school) I get to go to technology. Every Tuesday we walk a short distance to Tamaki College to participate in these amazing classes.

There are three kinds of technology classes, they are electronics, hard material (wood) and food. The first class that I went to was electronics, and it was awesome because we used weird and cool equipments to make our invention. The invention that we made was called the lighthouse.

The second class was “hard materials”, it was great but very hard, you had to sandpaper the woods a lot of times and trim the woods into the right shape. Anyway, the thing that I made was a “helicopter”.

The last class is “food” which I am in. On the first week we made pancakes and on the second week we cookies which was really delicious. We also got a book that we write our recipes in, so that we can make some at home.

It feels really great that I get to do technology and I hope you do to.
